The Henry Buckner School provides a safe and loving environment for our children.
Our staff is CPR certified. We offer a rich combination
of skill sets that enhance the overall learning for the children.
Our PTO organization makes a difference. The partnership of parent
and staff is a vital part of our program. Parents participate in classroom
activities/field trips and program events.
HBS has a rich legacy which has been viable since its founding. This legacy has been further strengthened by Jewel Russell, our former Executive Director who served HBS faithfully for 33 years. We wish her the best in her retirement.
The torch is now passed from Jewel to our current Executive Director Cameal Bevas.
Ms. Cameal Bevas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Cameal is licensed and certified by the Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) with Director II and Director I qualifications, and as a Lead Infant-Toddler and Preschool Teacher.
As a passionate and committed advocate of early education,
Cameal believes that children are our future. Her goals for the Henry Buckner School
include increasing the school’s enrollment capacity, and providing continuity of care.
Her focus is to foster and support the children in our positive and intentional learning environment.
As we move forward, our focus is to enhance early literacy skills in the areas of technology, environmental awareness, and languages through the language arts program.
Cameal looks forward to many successful years working
with the families, staff, and the community.
